The short version
We do not sell your information. No mobile phone numbers or SMS consent data are shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
We collect enough to introduce you to the right broker and follow up about the boats you came to see. Nothing more, and we don't pass it on.
What we collect
When you check in at a YSI vessel or booth, we collect:
- Your name, mobile number and email address
- Where you do most of your boating
- Which of our boats you'd like to see, and where you are in the process of buying or selling
- Details of a boat you currently own, if you choose to tell us
- Which vessel you checked in at, and the date and time
- Which of our brokers met with you and their notes from your visit
Everything except your name and mobile number is optional. If you'd rather not give an email address, our staff can check you in without one.
How we use it
- To let the broker who already works with you know you've arrived, so you're not handed to a stranger
- To send you information about the boats you asked about
- To follow up after the show about your interest
- To understand which shows and which boats are worth attending, in aggregate
Your information is stored in our customer relationship management system (Zoho CRM) and is accessible only to Yacht Sales International staff and brokers.
Text messages
Who we text, and why
We send two kinds of message. Our own brokers and staff receive operational alerts when a visitor checks in. Visitors receive messages only if they have expressly opted in on the check-in form — a confirmation that a broker is on the way, and information about the boats they asked about.
Consent
Visitor consent is given by ticking a clearly labelled box on the check-in form. It is never pre-ticked, and it is recorded against your record with the date and time. Checking in does not by itself opt you in to text messages.
Frequency and cost
Message frequency varies and is limited to event days and follow-up. Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for the messages themselves.
Opting out
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from us. You will receive one confirmation and nothing further. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us using the details below. Opting out of text messages does not remove you from email, and does not affect your relationship with your broker.

Who we share with
We use service providers to operate the system — a cloud host, a text message carrier, and our CRM provider. They process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not share it with other yacht brokerages, manufacturers, or marketing companies. We may disclose information where we are legally required to.
How long we keep it
We keep visitor records for as long as we have a business relationship or a reasonable prospect of one, and thereafter as needed for our records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
